Ford Focus Rear Door Panel Removal
Remove the door Pull-handle cover, by inserting a screwdriver into the access hole on the bottom of the handle, and using the screwdriver as a lever, pop off the handle cov er. Remove the button covering a retaining screw in the interior door latch backing plate. Remove the 8 Torx� retaining screws around the perimeter of the door panel, and the single Torx� retaining screw in the interior door latch. Remove the 2 hex bolts in the door handle.
Gently lift the panel upwards, to disengage the window weather-strip molding. Remove the Door Latch Trim Panel, be sure to unplug the Power Lock Switch, and remember how the wire was run. Remove the interior door latch, by gently pulling out on the front corner, which is held in by a plastic compression spring. With GREAT Difficulty!!!
If any one can help with this then please post as I have been struggling for two hours! Look at your door, on the panel there should be at least 3 spo ts for screws if you dont see the heads of the screws then they are under protective panels. These will look like flat circles. In one spot beside each one there are grooves where you use a flat head screw driver to pop the protectors off. In some cases the speaker cover also needs to come off first. Now the door panel will not come straight off there are at least 3 places that need to slide a certain direction and 2- 5 places that will pop out. The places with brackets dont brake easily so it is not something you need to be gentle with so dont be affraid to put a little upper body strength in the removal.
