- Now you might argue that I'm being totally unfair here, but, this is none other than Shinjo Mayu, infamous for unlikable. But not in ayakashi koi emaki.
After her house and prized guitar are destroyed in a fire, Mizuki moves in with Akira at the Dankaisan dorm. To help pay for a new guitar, Mizuki gets a part-time job and is wildly successful at it, but she won’t tell Akira what it is Reads R to L (Japanese Style) for teen plus audiences. Ok so seriously I have been wondering this for MONTHS now and finally after countless hours of research in Ok so seriously I have been wondering this for MONTHS now and finally after countless hours of research in which i found literally ZERO solid answers i finally came across this little gem. This article was published May 7th, 2014 and in it she states that she does plan to keep working on Ai Ore on a regular basis. Now if we look at her release dates from the previous volumes in the manga we see that she had about a 3-4 month gap in-between each one which either states that she was able to hash out each new volume in that amount of time or it means she pre-worked on the volumes ahead of time and this was a marketing plan by the publisher to give her time to tour and promote each volume independently while still haveing time to rest inbetween. In the article though she states that she has taken on other projects and so she is putting some series on a backburner. Well looking at our timeline again its been little over two years since she published the last Volume (volume 8).
Through further research though i found another interview that was posted in November of 2014 where Mayu Shinjo stated that she had no interest in writing shoujo manga ever again and instead wanted to switch her foucs to BL manga. BUUUUUUUUUTTTTTT after some MORE research i actually found out that she did in fact continue the series under another name! This continuation was published on February 22, 2013 but from what ive been able to gather it's only in e-book or kindle format.
The pages that mention it at all so far have all been in japanese and so ive only gathered so much from what i can understand on my own and what google can tell me. As far as i could tell there are so far 3 volumes published under the Zoku Ai Ore! All three seem to be a sequal from the original story taking place about 2-years later, i'm assuming from where volume 8 left off? Also it seems (not 100% sure so don't quote me on this) but it looks like the third volume is the final one in the series with many sites saying that with the publication of Zoku Ai Ore! 3 Mayu's series is finally complete.
Unfortunatly thats where my dead end has hit. All three volumes as stated before are aparently only avaliable in e-book or kindle format and all are in japanese. I have not been able to find them online in raw formats or even through the e-book websites listed to purchase Zoku AI Ore! There are no translations that i could find and apparently it isnt avaliable in the USA. I will keep looking and see if i can purchase an original e-copy or even find a raw one somehwere on the web and possibly have it translated and uploaded to a free manga reading website (until it gets licensed in usa of course) but otherwise i think the only hope that we would have to get the 'last?'
3 volumes in a hardcopy format at least, would be if a publisher like viz media or some other company decided to license and publish them in english here. Hope this helps.

Αναγκασμένη να ζήσει για κάποιο διάστημα στον κοιτώνα των αγοριών, συγκατοικώντας με τον Akira, προσπαθεί να ισορροπήσει σύμφωνα με τα νέα δεδομένα. Αλλά όσο κι αν προσπαθεί, δεν τα καταφέρνει ιδιαίτερα καλά καθώς, χωρίς την κιθάρα της, νιώθει μισή. Και κάπου εδώ, στο κλείσιμο της ιστορίας δηλαδή, υπάρχει το όποιο ενδιαφέρον έχει να προσφέρει το τεύχος που δεν μπορώ να πω, είναι πολύ συγκινητικό καθώς δεν μιλάει μόνο για την συντροφική αγάπη που μπορεί να μας κάνει να ξεπεράσουμε τα όρια αυτού που μπορούμε, για να βοηθήσουμε τον άνθρωπο που αγαπάμε, αλλά και το τι μπορούμε να κάνουμε για τον οποιονδήποτε νοιαζόμαστε, φίλο ή γνωστό, προκειμένου να είναι ευτυχισμένος και να συνεχίζει να χαμογελάει. Μπορεί, βέβαια, η σχέση των Akira και Mizuki να μην ολοκληρώνεται με όλους τους τρόπους, αλλά τουλάχιστον με παρηγορεί η ιδέα πως το μεγάλο βήμα θα γίνει και είναι απλά θέμα χρόνου. Άλλωστε, συνολικά, ήταν μια ιστορία προσωπικής αναζήτησης, αλλά και μια ιστορία που μας θυμίζει πως πρέπει να είμαστε ανοιχτοί απέναντι στην αγάπη.

All she knows is that her precious guitar was destroyed along with the house, so she feels incomplete, and is in a guitar-induced coma of sorts. But, Akira is now laying it on thicker and thicker as he lives in a dorm room with Mizuki.
He wants so much to have sex with her that he releases Dark Akira on her. Mizuki has taken a job at a Butler Cafe to raise money to get a new Mizuki's house gets destroyed, and she has to move into the all-boys school dorm.
But, she has no idea what is going on. All she knows is that her precious guitar was destroyed along with the house, so she feels incomplete, and is in a guitar-induced coma of sorts. But, Akira is now laying it on thicker and thicker as he lives in a dorm room with Mizuki. He wants so much to have sex with her that he releases Dark Akira on her.
Mizuki has taken a job at a Butler Cafe to raise money to get a new guitar, and he doesn't tell Akira. But, Akira does find out, when he finds Mizuki's card from work. So, Akira hatches a plan. Akira talks their friends-note: sexy guys! (After all, this is a Shinjo Mayu manga!)-into taking jobs at the same Butler Cafe as Mizuki in order to raise money for a guitar to give Mizuki. After all, they can do it more quickly this way.
This volume ends with them having a Blaue Rosen concert in the Butler Cafe, and presenting Mizuki with a new guitar to do so. Mizuki learns that it isn't truly her guitar that defines who she is, and that friendship is much more important. She also realizes that Akira loves her very much. Mizuki thinks Akira is the only guy that truly sees-and accepts-her as a girl. But, if that is true.Why is Ran kissing her?!? - This volume was provided to me by VIZ Media, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.

All opinions expressed here are my own. I will always gladly accept, read, and review Shinjo Mayu mangas. She is one of my absolute favourite mangakas. Pretty disappointed in this series. It had a lot of potential to break boundaries but it didn't quite go there.
Plus there was some weird themes of rape/non-consent in a couple early volumes which I'm not overly sensitive about but it was concerning. I really enjoyed the romance in a couple volumes, but this one was just disappointing with a recycled plot line and character interaction. Mayu Shinjo beat this one to death, didn't even wrap up the story and says she will continue it at some point.
